Class Blog(Monday)

We began our unit on geopolitics with a discussion of genocide, discrimination, colonialism, and apartheid, among other things, and we are to fill out the reverse side of the handout. we most talk about genocide and we also talk about Nelson Mandela.

Nelson Mandela
Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela served as President of Africa from 1994 to 1999, and was the first South A frica president to be elected in fully representive democratic election. Before his presidency, Manela was an anti-apartheid activisr, and the leader of Umkhonto we Sizwe, the armed wing of the African National Congress. Following his release from prison on 11 February 1990, Mandela led his partyin th negotiations that led to multi-racial democracy in 1994. As president from 1994 to 1999, he frequently gave priority to reconciliaction, while introducing policied aimed at combating poverty and inequality in South Africa. In South Africa, Mandela is often known as Madiba, his Xhosa clan name or as tata. Mandela has received more 250 awards over four decades, including the 1993 Nobel Peace Prizes
